Where are some interesting/funky places to visit roadtripping from Detroit to Bangor, Maine?

Hi! My sister and I are roadtripping from Detroit to Maine in August for a couple of days. We’re definately going to Acadia National Park. We’d just like some tips or ideas on places to visit on the way, our route takes us through Canada, New Hamphire, Mass., and Maine. Thanks!
My sister and I are taking a road trip out that way in August. Our tentative route takes us through Ontario, then I-90 to I-84 to I-95. We’ve already made plans to visit Acadia NP once we get to Bangor, but we’d like some ideas on where to stop in New York, New Hampshire, and Maine. Thanks!
